Whenever I am out perusing street fairs, I’m always impressed by what street artists are able to do – spray painting, chalking, now even finger painting… I’m not just impressed by what by they create, but the showmanship and SPEED they create with – they must be dazzling enough to get people to stop, watch, and hopefully make a decision to buy right there. If they don’t buy, the artist doesn’t eat!
If there is any form of “high risk, high reward” art I’ve ever seen, street art would be it! And this guy is an incredible example with his finger painting.
Even though the video is sped up, you can tell the pace he is going at by the sounds of people talking in the background.
Watch as he creates landscape after landscape in seconds using nothing but his fingers, a few globs of paint and a simple “smatter, spread and wipe” technique. Incredible!

Personally I’ve always been impressed with live street art, though I’ve never seen anyone finger paint like the guy above… The most common form that I’ve seen at street fairs throughout my life is spray paint art. They’re actually the first people I’ve seen who pull back the curtain to show you inside the subculture of street art and how you can spray paint like the pros you see out at the street fairs. Their first lessons are free so it’s a pretty cool way to see if you’d actually like using spray paint as a medium in your work – personally I found it therapeutic!
